Starz Elektrotechnik

Starz GmbH was founded in 1961 by Karl Starz in Göggingen, Baden Württemberg. In 1990, the company relocated to Großräschen, the former site of the GDR toy factory Plasticart.

In 2000, the Kehrel couple took over the company after Karl Starz passed away. Starz Elektrotechnik GmbH received the Future Prize in 2012 for impressive sales and employee development. Sales rose from EUR 5 million in 1999 to EUR 17.2 million in 2011, and the company created 140 new jobs and expanded to three locations abroad.

However, due to wrong decisions by the owner, the company filed for bankruptcy twice. In November 2018, under new management and ownership by long-term customer ATLAS GmbH, Starz Elektrotechnik GmbH was founded with 18 experienced employees.

Since then, the company has steadily grown, and in December 2019, two employees from the management team, Ms. Cindy Kurz and Ms. Tina Unruh, took over as managing directors. Starz Elektrotechnik GmbH now employs over 45 people and is committed to expanding its business location in Großräschen and creating more jobs for the region.
